Westminster Child Center

Westminster Child Center (Center) was established in 1962 by a group of dedicated women of the Eagle Rock Presbyterian Church at the suggestion of the Pastor of the Church at that time, Dr. Thomas Megahey. The Center opened September 24, 1962 with two rooms for a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. We have expanded and changed in many ways, but the original concept of Christian sharing, help, and support has remained.

Our Goal

The goal of the Center is to provide an environment through activities and relationships that says to your child, “Here is a place where you will be taken care of by concerned adults; we feel you are a unique and worthwhile person; we have faith in you as a growing, learning individual.” In this environment we hope to offer as many opportunities as possible for your child to solve real problems in his/her life that relate to understanding him/herself, other children, adults and all the “things” in this world he/she is discovering, both natural and man-made. We want your child to discover a basic way of dealing with life that is realistic, comfortable, and satisfying for him/her.
